Log is uploaded. Hopefully it's the correct log. As for upgrading to 7.9, I tried following that post. There's a file I have to update to add a '9' in order to allow the update to 7.9. I cannot locate this file. Linux directory structure is an enigma.
Did you ask for help in a related discussion? It might be interesting to see whether the behaviour on the QNAP would be the same as on Windows.
