I think what w3wilkes is saying is that for Windows Server 2016 Essentials you would take the same approach as for WHS 2011, that is, you just use the Windows Installer, not the WHS installer which was for WHSv1 only. I have LMS running on WHS 2011 and I use the windows installer. No other tricks needed. This *should* work fine on Essentials 2016.
