Thank you both. It's a lowly DS115j (so, only a 800Mhz Armada 370 and 256MB of RAM). For me, it's mostly a glorified external hard disk, as I have nearly all services and functions disabled.
Installed 7.9.1 via the beta channel. The initial scan from a few days ago when I started playing with all of this became aborted for some reason. So today, prior to 7.9.1, was the first full scan. 3 hours 25 minutes for a ~25,xxx song library with no video files, during which time LMS and the NAS were basically unusable, especially the latter portion when artwork was being cached. I'll monitor it tonight and see how it goes. Michael I understand these post-Logitech-created LMS' are your handiwork.
