Most tag editors like mp3tag has an option to preserve time stamps otherwise the files change date is altered , it changes when you edit the tags . Thats how its happens .
LMS new list is built solely from the timestms in the files , LMS has no real log over when you actually got your files . There is a long standing bug report/enhancement request to have the option to use creation date instead of change date. But at the moment change date is it . Howre there migth be utilities to alter change date on files .
