I knew that about the physical preset buttons on the Boom, but it hadn't occurred to me that the same would apply to IR remote - makes sense though, thanks. Ralphy's comments suggested this should works for the currently playing track, but if it actually only applies to a track that's been navigated to, then it's difficult to see how to achieve the same thing on a pCP/Squeezelite player that doesn't have a screen or a means to navigate to a track.
