Many thanks for clarifying that.

Fwiw, though, after I've clicked 'play' on an mpc, the elapsed seconds
just keep on counting up until it reaches the end of the track (which is
showing the correct track length), at which point it goes back to zero
and starts counting up again.

Also, LMS is showing the correct file data -- artist, title, bitrate,
encoding method (CBR), and format, ie, mpc.  (I can play mpc's in
foobar2000, so can verify those details are correct.)
