Or do touch .NOMAJOR in that directory. Now restart QLogitechMediaServer, and it will go back to 7.9.3. Still trouble remove an reinstall the plugin.
If it works you could try 8.0 again, by editing .QLMS.conf NOMAJOR=0 or rm .NOMAJOR and restart QLogitechMediaServer.
