I'm confused by your question. Have you installed Andy Grundman's UPNP/DLNA media interface plugin. If so and you don't intend to use UPNP on your Amp then uninstall it as UPNP can (and does) flood the network in certain circumstances. If after doing that you still get issues when you use AirPlay on the amp then it is most likely a networking issue. You say you use the iPad to listen to music - you must have installed an app to do this (iPeng?) and it is not using AirPlay unless you mean you play it from the iPad to the Receiver directly. The fact it works in the same room without dropouts could simply mean it is a better signal area even if only by a couple of metres or that the iPad has a better aeriel.
