Than you Michael. I fully agree that in general it is a bad idea to open ports and expose internal services like this. I have configured my dd-wrt router to provide VPN services, which is what I normally use when I need to access my home LAN from away. However, unless the Squeezebox player do not have a hidden VPN client, this does not really help me in my current situation. I am on vacation with a Squeezebox Radio, and my laptop. I want to be able to listen to music while I'm away. I don't want my laptop being turned on 24/4 and turned into a VPN gateway. I am prepared to accept the risks during my vacation of having the ports open (ideally, I should at least remap them away from the default values, if possible). But my core problem is that *even if this is not recommended, I can't even do it!* I am unable to tell the Squeezebox at what address to locate the server. I do not even understand how I am supposed to do that. The "Change Library" menu option, which sounds most promising, just says something like "Reconnecting to <internal name of my LMS server>". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ magicus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66752 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112464 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
