I heartily concur with using piCorePlayer (it is what I use for 2 raspberry Pi systems, one connected to my own aging Xyzel NAS for both LMS server and player and the second in my bedroom as player only). If you only need the RPi for LMS to serve to external players, you'll need the RPi, a case, a power supply, and an SD card (for the piCP). If, however, you also need audio out from your RPi (like I do since my much loved Classic2 died a few years ago), then might I suggest HiFiBerry:
https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/#bundles They have bundles that include RPi, HiFiBerry audio card add-on, and case, and power supply. Select the item with RCA outs (if you use that) or digital outs (which is what I have, the Digi+ bundle). Thjeir cases include cutouts depending on the add-on card you purchase. I have had no issues with their products or their service. Note however that they are a British company so shipping in these crazy times may be longer than normal. -- “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” ― Aristotle On Mon, Dec 14, 2020 at 4:42 AM balbs < [email protected]> wrote: > > So for years I have happily run my old NAS duo with LMS and my random > collection of Classic, SB's and radios without any issues apart from > sadly seeing some much loved plugins fade away :-( but overall the > experience has been superb and people still marvel when I tell them how > old this stuff is and its still supported by a gallant band of brothers > and sisters.
