The discussion is a bit (no pun intended) confusing right now and 'bit
perfect' is a misleading term. When using pcm, wav, aif, what is sent to
Squeezelite or UPnpBridge is bit perfect from an audio sample point of
view ("original sample"). Now, you are referring to "original file"
which is different thing.When connected using squeezelite, a DAC does not receive header information of any kind, so whether the header or not is sent does not matter. The samples are decoded to a set of bytes which are the samples and sent, maybe after gain is applied and that changes the samples then. When using the UPnPBridge, if *raw* PCM is sent to the player (see my previous post) then no header of any kind is ever sent to the UPnP device. So, are you trying to solve the problem of listening to audio that does not work or you want the DAC update?
