A while back (last year or so) Vortexbox CD ripper no longer worked because it got its metadata from freedb, and that has essentially been shut down since June 2020. See this thread, and someone's posts on how they had hacked the VB to continue to get metadata. (Personally, I've always used dbpoweramp for ripping, rather than the VB builtin ripper).
