You could set up a Group player (called something like Indie Mix) and queue the mix to that ... then join your regular player to it.
Then when you Resume the group player you should find that you are where you were last time. When you want to listen to something else you simply pause the group player and play something on the real player (you might have to experiment with the expiry time on the group).
