I would likewise strongly recommend you abandon a Synology based LMS and
move to a Raspberry Pi solution - the LMS software is now at revision 8
and continues to be developed and supported (not least by the previous
poster - a certain mherger!)

I am likewise a refugee from Synology and solved the LMS "problem" by
installing piCorePlayer on a Raspberry Pi3B. My music files continues to
be hosted on a file share on my Synlology NAS.

piCorePlayer is free software (voluntary donations are welcomed by the
developers) and its an absolute gem of a program. There is a
comprehensive browser graphical interface and a lot of "hand holding" to
assist e.g. remotely mount file shares, backup images of the program
etc.

Its functionality goes way beyond just hosting LMS - as can be seen from
this page https://www.picoreplayer.org/

Documentation here https://docs.picoreplayer.org/how-to/install_lms/

With a little bit of effort (and expense) you can easily resolve your
LMS woes.
