I see you are reporting some issues with mounting files shares. Note
that I am no Linux geek, this is just what I have found, given some
experimentation, works for me.

(A) First on my Synology NAS, I created a file share called MEDIA. I am
using CIFS so no NFS permissions were required, but obviously any
account used (see 6 below) will need access to this share. My actual
music files are stored in a directory (or if you prefer folder!) called
"Music" within this share.

Next logon to your PiCorePlayer's web interface and go to the LMS tab.

Look for "Install and Enable additional File Systems" and go ahead and
install. I did NOT need exFAT - the lower of the two buttons.

You should find that once this is installed the fields within the "Setup
Network Disk Mount" section (lower down) become editable.

Here's what I did for them

(1) Tick "enable" box

(2) Mount point I called mine "media1"

(3) IP Address - insert IP address of your Synology NAS e.g.
192.168.123.123 (nothing else ie no "/" etc)

(4) Share Name "MEDIA" (same as file share name on your NAS - see A
above. Note may be case sensitive)

(5) Share type "CIFS"

(6) User name - see A above

(7) Password - self explanatory (note post mounting, this field will be
blank)

(8) Options I left as listed - "uid=1001,gid=50"

(9) Click the "Set NET Mount" button

You should now be good to go (obviously you will need to remap/rescan
your media folders location see option "Configure LMS" button on LMS tab
of PiCorePayer GUI

One related point to be aware of - further up the LMS page tab there is
an option to choose "Save LMS Server Cache and Preferences to Mounted
Drive"

I found that specifying the "Network Disk" option (by default if you
have a Mounted Drive setup, which is hopefully what you achieved above)
it will show (using my example above) "/mnt/media1/slimserver"

When using this Network Disk option I found LMS occasionally reporting
errors of being unable to write to file etc. Consequently I reverted to
using the "pCP Boot Disk" location option which I think is the default
option. I vaguely recall on this forum (Michael Herger?) recommending
using the SD location ie pCP Boot Disk.

Finally (as a belt and braces approach) whilst I have experienced no
problems with my SD card which has been running for years, if you want
to take a full backup image copy of your configured SD card - its always
nice to have, this can be done via the "Main Page" tab of PiCorePlayer
GUI

Look for "SD Card Image" button and select (new screen opens)

For "Image location", using same details as point (2) above I selected
(from drop down option) /mnt/media1/images

Save Location

Then (same screen) go down to "SD Card backup" and select "Create"
button.

This should then initiate a full image backup of your SD card to your
Synology NAS into your file share (see (4) above into a newly created
folder called "images" (if it doesn't you may need to manually create
the "image" folder on your NAS. This image will be date stamped so you
can create multiple images.

NB I think you will need to stop LMS server prior to initiating backup
(done from within the LMS tab and "Stop LMS" button)

Hope above is helpful and does not caused confusion.

Cheers
