That’s pretty much upto date.
I think you now need to bring Michael Herger in on this but I think he
will need two things

1) a copy of your scanner log set at debug to capture a clear and rescan
and
2) a copy of the resultant library.db

I think you’ve proved that it is a scan issue and that all gui’s confirm
that the library.db is being written incorrectly at scan time

You mentioned EC as a culprit. Do you have a very high number of his
albums? I think I have a very good (almost all) collection of ECs work
but they aren’t all necessarily in one artist folder. Some are in “Eric
Clapton” others are in “Eric_Clapton” and others in Blind Faith etc
