This doesn't make sense. I have a number of pCP/LMS installs that connect to a NAS albeit a QNAP - they all work perfectly and the mount is always there as long as the NAS is up when the pCP boots. Could it be that you have set your NAS to sleep if not required - I don't know whether that is possible with Synology or not.
