Came here to say this. I've been a RPi/piCorePlayer user for years. The RPi connects directly to my ZyXel NAS for music files and the HiFiBerry DAC optical out to my stereo receiver (they sit side by side next to my living room stereo & also next to my DSL router).
PiCorePlayer is excellent & set up for both SqueezeLite (software SqueezeBox emulater) & LMS. I've a 2nd RPi in my bedroom connected via WiFi.
