Everything is at the original install defaults. I didnt even know there was a filetypes settings page. It's set at "direct" not proxied (direct is the default).
I noticed just now that after repeated uncessful attempts with the symptoms I mentioned, Slacker gives a Connection time out error. I dont have an issue with Slimplayer plugin at all; not local music playback; no matter what type file. I do notice that in my audio settings for my softsqueeze player that SqueezeCenter automatically detects a copy of LAME.exe on my system. I did not install it; even after a clean install of Squeeze Center. I have probably spent a total of 8 hours on this; and, I'm not a computer novice either...
