yes, i've listened, thats not the point. i am very familiar with it, i'm pretty involved in radio. (and i have np saying i like some of it, and don't like some of it, not that either matters) as i've said repeatedly now, the programming isn't the issue, forcing me to pay for it is.
how would you feel if the gov't taxed you to make movies? or TV shows? what if the gov't forced you to watch NBC b/c if you didn't, NBC might not get the same revenue from advertisers? you'd reject that as absurd, as you should, but not taxing for npr/pbs? btw, when a liberal say such and such a thing "isn't liberal" or not "too liberal" its the fish doesn't know its wet syndrome. to someone who isn't a liberal, media that is both tax funded with their money and liberal leaning is just infuriating. to people like that, its not a matter of degree, but rather of principle. finally, there's nothing stopping you or anyone from funding it. feel free to write them a cheque, they do begathons all the time. what i find repulsive is that just b/c YOU want to support it, which is great and fine by me, you feel its ok to FORCE ME AND EVERYONE ELSE to support it, which i find repugnant on the most fundamental level. most americans understand why there are laws against tax funded abortions. even most rational pro abortion people support the notion that you sholdn't take money from someone to support something they don't belive in or think is wrong. given that general consensus, why should amtrak, or npr, be any different? -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbr (parent's home) - sbs 7.4.2b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - p4(ht) 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 - 35k mp3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70539 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
