UPDATE ON MY PROBLEMS Right ... I know that I am going to be tempting fate by posting this, but, I think that everything seems now to be working a hell of a lot better !
What have I done ? Well, where I previously had the receiver connected to my speaker output device I have placed the controller (in the cradle) and use it as the player on a permanent basis. The receiver is now in another room connected to another speaker system (just an standard ipod dock that was already there). Instead of the controller I now use an iphone with iPeng (which I have to say puts the software on the sbox controller to shame !). And .... everything has worked perfectly without a hitch for the last 3 weeks since I set the system up like this. I will qualify that in saying that I still find the receiver less stable than the controller in terms of playing (the receiver does still get drop outs / rebuffering issues but not as bad as before) and since switching to iPeng and controller as player I havent had a problem getting onto mysb.com is this a coincidence in that there havent been problems with the server ? i dont know ... but ... if things remain like this then I will gladly retract my statement from the thread title !
