I understand there are several plugins that can do the same? Of course this will not work for mySB.com. I find the plugin discussion with respect to cover art + internet streams rather confusing.
Short explanation: whether you get artwork for your radio station depends on the stream itself, and how you tune in to it. Using the Radios menu you _shoud_ get artwork, provided by TuneIn. Otherwise it's very likely you get the station logo at best.
Longer answer: It can be very confusing. The problem is: there's no standard to showing artwork in an online stream. Some stations do embed an URL in the stream's metadata (eg. the great Radio Paradise). If we encounter such a URL, we'll use it to show the artwork.
But most online radio stations don't provide that information. Their own web site would show artwork. But that's because their web site is talking to their servers in parallel to the audio stream. We do not have access to all those APIs from all those radio stations, therefore we can't show artwork for them.
Now there's TuneIn, a radio station aggregator which we're using to provide the radio station directory. They offer an API which would provide artwork for most radio stations accessed through TuneIn. If you play a station through our Radios menu, then we'll try to get its artwork from TuneIn. But if you tune in to some radio station without going through our Radios menu, chances are we can't use TuneIn to get the artwork. In this case you'd get the station icon at best.
And then there are some 3rd party plugins (like mine for Swiss radio SRF) which do provide artwork for certain stations. But I don't think there's any solution to provide artwork for them all.
