I think a majority of the users of a squeezebox would welcome the
availability of a status page that informs users in cases of outages.

So would I.

You can even consider the inclusion of that status page in the SB
software.

No denying we could do better. But to set up such an infrastructure would require quite some effort, best case to build a totally independent system. Eg. no Amazon server. A system which would need to be maintained for years, idling in a corner, just for that one day in two years where things go wrong?

Even if it was once every year: mysb.com is supporting a dead product. Dead for three or four years already. I'm doing everything I can to keep things alive. But at the same time I have to watch cost. Because if cost is getting out of hand, then shutting down mysb.com will be some quick savings... That's nothing you and I want.

Therefore I'm saying sorry, will hopefully not happen again anytime soon. But if it should, keep an eye on Twitter (@mysqueezebox) or this forum. It's the best options you currently have.
