Suppose it's is the legal mess , they in thier turn have old contracts
with the streaming services for the old players .

If Logitech wanted to change their business model , they probably have
to go back to all off thier suppliers and renegotiate ...
This would put a wet blanket over the proceedings and probably cost more
than the meeger fees collected and could have unexpected consequences
some services may sieze the opurtunity to quit this platform entirely ?

And it would still be different ,some services don't want their endpoint
encryption on open source projects for example .

Suppose don't rock the boat is a strategy here .

Never the less (back up a bit in the tread) . Logitech have tried this
strategy , one unknown third party has been contacted but where
apearently unitrested to participate , so sadly there is a tendency to
freeload among the third party suppliers to the LMS squeezebox universe
.
