Just for people who might experience the same problem: I was running the updated Spotify app without problems in parallel to the triode app (which was loosing a bit of functionality over time though). I am using two SBTs and a Squeezebox radio with Slimserver 7.7 on a Synology NAS. Starting Mid-June, neither of the Spotify apps was showing cover art while playing any more. Was solved by uninstalling the triode app.
