I can ping the cache machine at all times, I haven't tried a manual telnet to
the squid port , but I can do a regular telnet to the cache machine and
log in. I have looked at the cache.log file, and I can find nothing amiss.
When I ran one copy of squid on port 3128 , it's cache log said
that it detected a dead sibling ( the one on 8080 ) :
1999/01/27 17:00:12| Detected DEAD Sibling: zeus.zccm.zm/8080/3130
1999/01/27 17:00:12| Detected REVIVED Sibling: zeus.zccm.zm/8080/3130

Does this help ?
