It appears to be working.  I've got a basic let-it-all-thru config and have 
squid cofingured for squidGuard. And yes, my browser does work thru squid.  
It looks like the basics are in place.  Now all I have to do is figure out 
what I do with the black list stuff, db stuff, domain list and who knows what 
else.  good thing it is a slow day!
