Those of you who came to build the Drinking Straw Structures will remember what a hit they
were with the regulars (http://tinyurl.com/2tcow). Now we're going to add a layer of
complexity by making things that *move*. Or at least we'll get drunk trying. This is another
Glue Gun event, which means lots of questionable artwork and burnt fingers.
We'll be fabricating the moving joints out of toothpicks, paper clips, Timken precision radial
contact bearings, and anything else laying around. Quick hinges can be made from layers of
tape. You can make a little windmill, or a see-saw, or a scale model Wankel engine if you're
feeling creative. But anyone caught making a functional perpetual-motion machine will be
categorically denied patent rights, so don't get any ideas.

Please bring: glue guns, extra glue sticks scissors, cutting pliers, needle-nose pliers cardboard styrofoam objects stiff wire erector set parts string small motors duct tape (that almost goes without saying) MIG welder band aids
Look for us outside in the garden. Walk out the back of the bar and go down the wooden
steps. We'll have lots of colored drinking straws and other assorted crap for assembling the
'sculptures' at our table.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: We're also using this as an opportunity to plug an upcoming road trip over Memorial Day Weekend to see the Kinetic Sculpture Races in Arcata. It's an open group trip (so anyone can join us, or head up on their own), and will include the World's Shortest Bar Crawl in Arcata Plaza. We'll be going over the details at the Wild Side for anyone who is interested, but here's the general info:
