well, as an experiment, i changed the smtp server address from localhost to
email.thebytebusiness.com (i know that's contrary to the documentation i
had, but it's what jonathan suggested might work) and the error message
changed to:


      Transaction failed
      Server replied: 554 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Recipient address
rejected: Relay access denied



Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output
started at ../functions/page_header.php:32) in
/home/httpd/html/UsseryMail/src/compose.php on line 229


so, does that give anyone a clue about what might be wrong?
