Your users are virtual, right? If so, you should only have "/" in your home column. As Jonathan suggested, put the paths you have in home and maildir together and put it all in the maildir column (assuming the resulting path is correct). You might get better responses if you ask on mailing lists that are geared toward these setup issues.
