You say mail goes to the mbox of the particular user. Which mbox? Do you mean /var/spool/mail/username or is it kept somewhere else? Can you see any other folders? Is Outlook using IMAP or POP3 when it does it? I think UW looks in /var/spool/mail by default, so if you have it going somewhere else, you'll need to change that.
