Hey everyone.
I'm not sure exactly where the problem I am having is, but this seems
like the best place to start.
I have a SquirrelMail installation that has been running without
incident for probably 8 or 10 months. I haven't had a single hiccup
with it. Until now.
The current version I am running is 1.4.6 on FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE-p12.
Apache version is 2.0.58_1, and php4-4.4.2_2. My mail server is
courier-imap-4.1.0,1.
Everything is installed from the ports.
Recently, I installed a mod_auth_pam2 module to add webDav access for
a select few users, and when I restarted Apache, I started seeing some
odd behavior. I went back and returned my Apache config to its
original state (from memory, as long as I've been doing this, backing
up is still a tough habit to form). When I restarted Apache again,
things got even wierder.
At present, I can log in on SquirrelMail, but my left_main.php frame
isn't rendering or executing at the server. It's trying to download.
When I log in, I get a download manager popup that wants to save (or
open) left_main.php to the local system.
What I'm getting is the php source. This isn't happening with the
right pane though. I can't understand it. I can't find any php
errors, apache errors, or mail errors.
I also can't find anything online to help with this odd problem.
I am a developer, but I am not in the least familiar with PHP. I am
fairly competent configuring Apache and figuring out pretty much any
*nix type configuration format, but I don't seem to be getting logging
from php. I have set error_reporting to "E_ALL" in php.ini, and
specified the log file as /var/log/php.log. I have aslo turned
log_errors on.
My Apache config is loading libphp4.so, and the .php file type is
defined as type application/x-httpd-php.
I also have Joomla installed on this site. Joomla also uses PHP4, and
it appears to be working flawlessly.
As I am unfamiliar with PHP, I'm not sure if there's any other info
that might be useful in debugging this.
Any ideas?
TIA
Lou
