EVAPI clients are server-side applications, implemented by the ones deploying 
Kamailio. There are other layers that can be added to kamailio even in this 
case (e.g., mqueue). Kamailio offers a group of extensions that could be 
combined (evapi not being a mandatory one), each having a particular design 
mainly suiting the needs of the developer. Should anyone need anything else, 
pull requests can be made, the source code is available for free for more than 
20 years.

To conclude: the remark in my previous comment was that if the data to be 
retrieved by evapi, db, http, etc... is crucial (e.g., authentication), you 
can't do anything to make calls happen, and if such crucial resource gets to 
its limit (becomes slow), then horizontal scalability is the solution. If you 
want to discuss further conceptual aspects, use the sr-dev mailing list, it 
goes beyond the case of this issue.
