Hi Blue,
I just tarred up up the resulting ssh2 directory after the "make"
and copied to my 'old' 4.1.5 machine. I ran 'make install', and that
looked fine. However, a /.ssh2 directory wasn't created, and the
hostkeys in /etc/ssh2 weren't created. If I try to run ssh-keygen or
start up one of the daemons:
==============
# sftp2
0509-037 System error - error data is: sftp2
0509-022 Cannot load library libnsl.a[shr.o].
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does
not exist.
======
-There was a file name libnsl.a on the 4.3 machines, as well as an empty
directory libnsl.a. I copied those over and ran make install again, it
ran fine (shorter), but still no .ssh2 or hostkeys.
If I try to run keygen or start daemon, I now get this:
=====
# sshd2
0509-037 System error - error data is: sshd2
0509-027 Member shr.o is not found or file is not an archive.
0509-027 Member shr.o is not found or file is not an archive.
0509-022 Cannot load library libnsl.a[shr.o].
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does

=====================
The old machine path includes everything that is on the new machine
path. The empty directory libnsl.a is at /usr/lib/inst_updt/libnsl.a
on both machines. This is not on the path on either machine. Daemons
start up just fine on the new machine. Do you have any ideas about
this? ..I'm sorry if I'm being a pest with all these questions. (!)
I'm hardly an ssh expert, but unfortunately, I'm currently the closest
thing to it over here! A pretty scary thought. ..If you do have any
more time to help out, I really do appreciate it.
thanks so much, Vicki
