Hi Vicki,
I'm experiencing the same problem with XAUTH that you ran into. And I'm
installing under AIX 4.3.3 where one would think the "make" would work. My
experience with the patch also was the same as yours. I've not yet edited
the Makefile files though I probably will give it a try. Also I revisited
my AIX installation to make sure that all of X11 was installed. Some parts
were not. I've sinced installed them and that's where I'm at this
morning. So keep posting if you find anything that works and I'll do the
same. It's a little maddening.
By the way, I'll be headed to your neck of the woods in June...going to the
outer banks.
