How true! I'm working around the clock to finish (another) Class A
Climax which is due for delivery right after DH. I'll be running it in
and ironing out the bugs there. Of course, I just had to change my
design and put in totally different type of two speed gearbox, not to
mention the customer wanted a twin cylinder engine with proper
Stephensons valve gear, not the Hackworth. So I had to marry a TVR1 and
a Shay engine. Not satisfied with that I put the crankshaft underneath
the bed plate to lower the profile, only to find it just fouled the
universal joint on the Cardan shafts. Jacking up the engine put the gear
train out so a new geabox frame had to be machined. As Jim said, it's
all great fun!
