Funny you should ask.  About five minutes ago, I took it out back and ran it 
around my tightest radius curve, which is about 7 feet.  It handled that fine, so 
the minimum is somewhere between four and seven feet.  (Is four feet radius 
right for LGB 1500?  I think so.)  I'll be sure to include a suitable caveat on the 
conversion kit labels.  I don't have much of a feel for how many people still 
have those ridiculously tight curves, but I'm sure I'll hear from them all if I don't 
state it in big red letters.  It's one of the laws of physics, I think.

Baldwin actually built a loco of this type with blind second drivers.  The theory 
was that, since it's effectively a six-coupled engine, the "middle" driver didn't 
have to be flanged.  Turned out not to work so well in practice....
