> Pete,
Actually, you are not quite right-- the big pic you sent was not resized to fit my 17" screen--I had to scroll up and down and all around to see it--the G5 !mac resized it AFTER I had transferred it to the desktop -that is when it showed 616K. Anyway it was a great pic so who cares about the time to d/l Thanks--BTW - I didn't fall asleep while it came in. I wife served me another Tanqueray!!. Hic! Geoff. > My computer shows it as 616K. What I don't understand is that I have > > other photos pulled off the internet and from my own camera that are >> equally clear and are all well under 100K > >Tony's explanation is good - another way to look at it is that your 'viewer' >(web browser) resized my big pic to fit your window, so you didn't actually >see my huge, hi-resolution picture! You saw something reduced to fit. An >800x600 version would be less than 100K and would probably look the same on >your screen. > >But, as Tony says, if we tried to make an 8 x 10 print of the 800 x 600, it >would look very fuzzy. > >Pete > >_______________________________________________ >SSLiveSteam mailing list >Send messages: [email protected] >Cancel subscription: http://postfix.45mm.com/mailman/listinfo/sslivesteam >Rules: http://www.45mm.com/sslivesteam_guide.html _______________________________________________ SSLiveSteam mailing list Send messages: [email protected] Cancel subscription: http://postfix.45mm.com/mailman/listinfo/sslivesteam Rules: http://www.45mm.com/sslivesteam_guide.html
