Bert,
I agree with you, and I work with computers for a living! Everyday of
the week I work with computers, and on the weekend, I get to do what I
like, play with my kids and work on my railroad trains. I have Dial up
at home, and don't care to get anything better.

Pete,

My hobby is model railroads, preferably live steam. I prefer live steam
because I have to take time to prepare my machines for a run. fill them
with gas water steam oil and oil round them. I then have to take time
until I have steam. Then I can run them for a proportionally short time.
After that I can clean them and start the process all over again. That
is what I enjoy, every bit as much as building them.
My computer is a necessary evil. The 4 seconds that I wait for a picture
is no problem for me. I have a problem understanding why everyone these
days it seams needs the newest, the fastest etc. In the meantime the
art of doing everything s l o w l y by hand is running through the
fingers of modern life. From the CAD to the production no one needs to
think or indeed has any time to. The first thing young machinists ask
when they see my lathe is "where is the monitor". The next one is where
is the jig?. etc. Sorry Pete I am told that my PC is running DSL. I
don't have a stop watch on my desk. I just switch on sit back and wait
until the picture appears. The picture you enclosed was for me at least
well worth the wait. Thank you for sharing it with me. I think if all
had to happen so quickly I would suggest car racing or aircraft may be
more fitting. I understand that the worlds industry has to save that
what costs most. The man hour, but this is my hobby and this is my
personal opinion. Please understand I am not saying I am right, it is
just an opinion and your opinion is as valid as mine. I hope I have
found the right words to express my opinion without causing any one
reading this distress. I hope Dave is not beginning to regret making the
photo service available. Sorry this is long winded but there you are.

Regards

Bert
