Tony, Thank you again. I will plan to go to work with the X-Acto knife. My gaskets are not cut out along the steam passages behind the distribution blocks.
My Jane also had the steam passages in the distribution blocks and the reversing block offset relative to each other. However the frames were not relieved to accommodate this causing the passages to be partially eclipsed. I counter-bored the reversing block passages to a larger diameter and filed the holes through the frames to ovals to open up the passages through the frames. That's why on the vertical engine the holes through the frame are oval-shaped. The frames are 1/16" thick so I though that it would be okay. By the way, in an old Steam in the Garden issue Peter Jones discusses drilling out the steam ports on the distribution block to 3/32". Do you have any thoughts on that?
