Pete.

Thanks for the addresses on burners. Interesting stuff. I have had
the same experience you have had with the double flue engine owners and do
not know of one owner who is not happy. It is interesting to note
that without exception the complaints have been received from persons
who do not own a twin flue engine. The only problems I have found
have been dirty jets, mostly from using a cheap supermarket gas, or
turning the flame down too far. When the gas has been turned down too low one
burner is starved of gas and no longer burns. After this has been
made clear to the owner, it is fun all the way. C-21's and K-27's run
on one filling of gas and water for up to 55 minutes with a full
30kg+ train behind them. So we have no Goodall and no axle pumps to
allow the other guys to have a run as well. Last year at Sinsheim Germany
a K-27 ran for an hour and 14 minutes with 8 stock cars and a caboose
behind it on one filling running at the sedate low speeds just like
the prototypes. When I read of "improvements" I think "customising" may
have been a better choice of wording. My K-27 is "Customised"!! as
is my C-16. Our C-21 steam oil drain is located on the firemans side
via brass tube and ball valve. This may be an improvement?

Thanks again for the link to some interesting reading.

Bert
