Right. We talked about the account/registered identity once a long time ago and what the server should return when it receives a disco#info query to the bare JID. Including the nick in the 'name' attribute makes sense for that case. But that's not the case we're talking about for client information. :)
As well, it should not be included in this spec, since then XEP-115 hashes will *never* be reusable.
