The way both me and Kevin has currently specified, ensures that both 0301 and 0308 will work and interop fine in mixed-MUC situations.
Frankly, I would recommend MUCs to filter out any RTT stuff. Unless they want to take part in amplification attacks of course. But that's not for the 0308 LC, is a problem that 0045 has in general and only shows when dealing with heavy traffic.
