Just reacting to this because I feel this is largely misunderstood.

No `pubsub#type` wouldn't be `http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom`. The whole
point of `pubsub#type` is to be able to distinguish the payload, which
isn't just Atom here, it's Atom, but used in a way to do
(micro)blogging.

Tomorrow say I want to use pubsub/atom to send in my accounts and I use
the same Atom namespace, how do I distinguish with your blog articles?

How do I have a UI/behaviour in my client/server that is different for
my accounts and my blog articles?

`pubsub#type` is how we do this. By using `urn:xmpp:social:foo` and
`urn:xmpp:accounts:bar` I know of course that it's Atom, but I also know
what rules on top of Atom are being used (type of content, etc.)
