Afternoon.

I have a PowerMac 4400, the motherboard equivelent, as I am told, of the
Starmax series.

I was wondering if anyone had tried this or have any feed back on such a
hardware upgrade.

I want to remove my 8x OEM cd rom and replace it with a Yamaha 2100ex IDE
internal CDRW.

I know that the IDE Bus is ATA/33 and the system bus is 40 so my question
is, will this CDRW function at the rated speeds using ATA/33 technology or
will I be making coasters?

The other question.

The harddrive in my 4400 is set to master and the Yamaha 2100ez is to also
be set at master.. will this cause a problem like say having two scsi
devices with the same device number?

Sincerely.

Lee
