Don't unplug your Zip, just use the switch. I'm not familiar with Iomega Zips, per se, but it probably needs to be on at Startup/Reboot so the Iomega Driver will load, and then the unit can be switched off. At subsequent switch on, it should be ready and waiting for your media. You might try booting the Zip both ways, just to see. [Iomega might (or someone else might) have a mounter app that can be used in lieu of a loaded driver, if necessary.] BTW: The 'Stop Stopwatch During Sleep' option being greyed out might be a bug. They recently made a bugfix for iMac's & it may have left SM's out. It was active on the older version. I bet it will remember uptime on a crash, it does on a Cmd-Opt-Power reboot.
