Yup. Cable & DSL services connect direct to an ethernet card.

Well, I have had a MacSense ethernet card installed in my max
(3000/180) for ages and it has never given trouble. We have Macs,
linux boxes and PCs all sharing information here. It seems rather
odd to me that all these ethernet cards you have and none of them
work.

Why don't we take it one step at a time.

Do you own an ethernet hub or switch? If so, do you have some
standard ethernet cables?

If you don't then go and buy a genuine CROSSOVER ethernet cable. It
should only be a couple of dollars. This will enable two computers
to connect directly over ethernet. The first thing to try is to get
two of your Max's talking to each other.

Also, can you switch to ethernet from the Appletalk control panel?

Now when you say none of the computers recognise the cards - what do
you mean? i.e. more information needed.

cheers
