Hi,

My Starmax 5000 died yesterday after four years of service. I pushed the start button,
and nothing happened. So, I found some information sheets, and refreshed my memory
about CUDA and PRAM. I pulled the machine apart, and, wow, isn't that a handy place to
put a battery?

Long story short. After changing the battery - I don't have a voltage meter, so I just
switched it out - and pushing the CUDA button for ten seconds, I plugged everything
in. When I pushed the start button. Boom, it worked, or at least, the machine started.
But it doesn't boot up. How do I make my Starmax work great again?

Here's what I've had in the machine for years:

G3 upgrade gizmo
Hard drive upgrade (the old drive is in there but it was giving me trouble so I put in
another drive, and made the new drive the boot drive)
IDE or SCSII card to run an external CD writer (the internal one read but did not
write)
MAC OS 8.6 (upgraded years ago.)

Does anyone know how I can bring my faithful Starmax back to life?

Thank you,

Michael
