Jim,

If you put MacOS 9 on your SM300/160, you'd better be ready for a really
sluggish computer (hense frustrating). I found a SM4000/200 (604e, 64megs
RAM), that had MacOS 9.1 on it. I'm tryign to find a friend who'll give it a
home now. IT IS painfully slow. I normally use a Powerbook G3/266/384 Ram
(which was recently stolen), and the feeling is like going from a Corvette
to a Ford Escort - maybe worse. Besides, Apple's been making Mac-specific
Packaged system OS CD for years now; it's probably only installable on your
particular G4, so it's useless to you (yes, MacOS 9). If I were you, I'd
download MacOS 8.6 (All Pre-MacOS-X system SW now available for download on
Apples website - free) and let well enough alone.
