Which bus? Seeing as you have two, and can only have one drive per bus, putting a 120 Gb drive on one bus has no effect on the other bus. I've had my new 120 Gb drive and my old 30 Gb drive both connected at the same time on this (with one of them connected in place of the CD-ROM drive) and it works.
